The New York Times

For this project I drew a 7-second rotoscope animation of NFL's Derrick Henry. It was published the header visual for a sports editorial reporting on Henry's famous stiff arm moves. The feature was selected as Editor's Pick and was  published on the homepage of The New York Times.

I also drew 3 illustrations for the printed version of this article, published as the front page of the Sports section in Sunday's NYTimes. I illustrated this set in the same style as the animation, with a retro feel of textured paper and slightly faded colors. To make the connection to the animation even stronger, the figures were drawn "in motion", capturing the dynamic actions of the players as they interact with each other.
