Excited to have my thesis paper published, as a runner up for the Maureen Furniss Award. Head over to the Animation Studies Journal if you feel like reading some ~30 pages / 9,700 words on rotoscoping animation 🤓📙

Taught last class of the semester yesterday…Where does the time go! So grateful for my incredible students and our animation journey at UC Berkeley Ext 💙💛 Creating a course on Animation Design & Video Production alongside full-time freelance was a learning curve in itself, but so happy to say that the course was a success and got great reviews! Still can’t believe I get to teach my passion.
My animations for the the documentary PREY (2019) premiered this weekend at Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival. The film won two major awards: DGC Special Jury Prize and the Rogers’ Canadian Audience Choice Award! I created 20 animations (rotoscoping and 2.5D parallax techniques) over 3 months and I’m super excited to finally share them with you all.

Thankful to dir. Matt Gallagher, prod. Cornelia Principe, and ed. Nick Hector (I wasn’t able to catch a flight to my lovely Toronto for the premiere as I’m teaching on the weekends but here is an awesome photo of the team 🤗🇨🇦)
Soo honored to have a permanent art piece at University of Toronto! This project for UofT has been 1 year in the making, and it feels incredible to see it come to life. The University approached me to illustrate for a new donor wall, featuring the historical Skule House. The art was then etched onto a large scale 3.0x 2.6 meter metallic surface, now up in the Engineering building atrium. If you pass by 55 St George Street, do check it out on the 5th floor : ).
This week I taught a Rotoscoping Workshop at the Toronto Animated Image Society - TAIS 🎬🙌So proud of the ballet animation the participants created in merely 1 hour! You can see it here.

Had a blast presenting at FAMU University this weekend on Contemporary Artistic Animation in Practice, specifically on the rotoscoping technique and freelancing as an animator. Still digesting the beauty of Prague and walking the halls of 5th oldest film school in the world…
Very excited ”Phases of Dance” made the official selection at the International Festival of Animated Dance in Réunion Island (France), screened this December!
